Khandala & Lonawala
you can visit any time,
weather is pleasent all
year around. Best time is
monsoon season , or after
monsoon.
Lonawala
is famous for Chikkis(sweet
candy). Should not miss
hot hot "Bhajias".
Many dams to see, few
of them taken care of
by Tata Electric company.
What all places to see,
Lonawala dame, Busy dam,
Buddhist caves, Forts,
Lohagad, Rajmachi fort,
Tung fort etc. I spend
only 2 days here , but
to see all places one
have to spend minimum
one week.

Khandala &
Lonawala is twin hill station,favourite
getaway for Bombay people.
Its 102 km from Mumbai.Favourite
place for Boollywood,ofcourse
nowdays song&dance routine
, they shoot , NZ , Aussi.
Its favourite weekend getway
from Bombay. Weekends will
be crowded.Hotell all packed
at weekend.
If anyone is interested
treckking,rock climbing
then its good starting
point for all these activites.

here,its 5 km from Lonawala,from
here one can see this view.Distant
Duke's nose(Named after
British Governer of Bombay),it
was misty ,so coun"t
get clear pic. One can hike
up to that summit,there
is trekking path.. Here
"Bhajias"will
be availabel to eat,i wont
usully advice to eat for
road side shops,but here
one can taste Bhajias".

Khandala
is well connected with Mumbai
and Pune by road and the
bus service for Pune (travel
time 2½ hours) via
Lonavala is good. However,
it takes about four hours
to reach Mumbai from Khandala.
Buses shuttle between Khandala
and Lonavala (15 minutes).
Maharashtra
State Transport runs S.T.,
Asiad, Deluxe and A/C Deluxe
buses from Dadar T.T. in
Bombay to Pune at regular
interval of 15 minutes,
also there are lot of private
bus operators offering bus
services both from Pune
and Bombay. There are Taxis
available from Dadar T.T.
in Bombay and from Pune.
Approx. fares from Bombay
to Lonavala and Khandala
ranges from Rs. 50 to Rs.
200/-.
